Early Explorers in the West

Winter

SESSION 1 IN SCHOOL CLASSROOM (60 MINUTES)
SESSION 2 AT THE MUSEUM (60 MINUTES)

Students learn about some of the early explorers using slides of paintings by John Clymer. These slides beautifully show the life of the fur trader as well as scenes from the Lewis and Clark Expedition. Students view John Clymer’s studio in the Museum and look at paintings by explorer artists such as Karl Bodmer, George Catlin, and Alfred Jacob Miller.

What People Are Saying

We went here because one of our kids wasn't feeling too well so we looked for options that were softer than trekking (summers) , and we absolutely loved it . The art work is fascinating and beautiful and varied ...a must visit - esp if its a rainy day :)
